If you were careful in the previous mission, you should have two Healing Wards, as well as some scrolls and potions, and you should use them liberally. The most difficult decisions you'll have to make in this chapter are when to use your healing magics. Don't waste them if you're almost at an oasis, but on the other hand don't hold them until the next mission. Try to remember to ration your magic, particularly your Healing Wards. The ones that survive, that is - don't be surprised in the least if your guys die off in droves. Even better, each oasis is actually a Fountain of Health, so you'll be able to heal your troops as you go. There are three separate oases you must reach, fortunately the first one is revealed for you on the mini-map, and as you reach each oasis, the next one will be revealed as well. Your job here is to protect Cairne and his caravan of four Kodo Beasts as they make their way across the desolate wastelands. In this mission you'll discover just how slowly a Minotaur can walk. You want to get as many magic items as possible before the next mission begins.
One final note: don't follow Cairne to his village right away if you haven't entirely cleared the rest of the map. However Cairne's really not that fragile, and can take care of himself. Hit him with Chain Lightning and have all your troops go after him.Ī good way to keep Cairne safe is to have your own guys completely surround him. The last wave of attackers includes a pesky 8th level Centaur Khan, who is the most dangerous opponent on this map. Go with him to his village and defend him from the three waves of Centaur attackers who will try to kill him. So where are all these magic items? Consult the mini-map, below:Ībout halfway through the mission, you'll run into a Yoda-like old Minotaur guy named Cairne, who will befriend you and your shipwrecked Orcs. Instead, let Thrall use his Chain Lightning constantly, and heal your troops at the Fountain of Health. You'll need them for the next mission, which is a lot tougher. Try not to use any of the magic items on this level though, especially the Healing Wards. Explore the entire map, smash every box and native hut you find, and collect every single magic item you can. As you're wandering about, you'll slowly realize that a vast horde of Centaurs is destroying everyone else, particularly the Minotaurs. Kalimdor is a wild country, filled with all kinds of Beast Folk and creatures out of Greek mythology: Centaurs, Minotaurs, and Harpies, to name but a few. Along the way, you'll slowly learn more about this strange land Kalimdor and the different kinds of people who live there. Good work, Thrall.Īnyway in this mission your objective is to find as many of your lost comrades as possible and gather them together. Apparently his destiny was to wipe out the Orcs once and for all, since he managed to sail them right into a storm and shipwreck them on a strange island with only a handful of survivors.
So Thrall had a dream that told him to put all his people on boats, sail west, and find his destiny.
